Trail Report For: Sayner – 01/21/2012

Reported By: George – Sayner Barnstormers

Trail Report: Sayner

Date of Report: 01/21/2012

Trail Conditions: Fair

Snow Cover: 1 to 4 inches on the trail

Area Report:
Our trails are a mixed bag of excellent down to some poor areas. This is where snow cover is thin due to heavy tree cover. Overall, I would rate them fair to good on average. Many corners are icy. Heavily traveled sections will start off fine, but with this HEAVY traffic, will be rough by middle afternoon. I groomed the portage at 5am this morning. I improved it, but there isn’t much to work with, so making it what I consider nice is an impossibility.

Be alert for logging equipment on the trail on 11, north of 70, between intersections 362 & 344.

We have a fundraiser this afternoon and early evening at Stillwaters. The proceeds from any dinner purchased goes to the Barnstormers, from 5 to 9PM. Hope to see you there!!!

RIDE SAFE!!!

News & Events:
CLUB RIDE: Please join us on January 29th, 2012 for the Barnstormer’s first club ride of the season. Please meet at the Sayner Mobile between 10:30 and 11AM. The ride will leave at 11:15AM.

We have a couple of great raffles going on this season.

Susie Keller crocheted and generously donated a very nice afghan. Tickets will be $2 ea or 3 for $5 and will be available at all of our fundraisers.

Kristine Schroeder has generously donated two Terry Redlin prints to the Sayner Barnstormers in honor of her Dad’s memory. James Deering passed away on November 17th, 2009. He was a very loving Father and a Proud Member of the Special Forces Unit, serving two tours in Vietnam. He also collected art and the two Redlin prints were two of his pieces. They are called Autumn Shoreline and Apple River Mallard. Raffle tickets are available at many businesses around the Sayner area. Please look for the posters. They are also on the Barnstormer’s Face Book Page. The tickets will be $2 ea or 3 for $5. The drawing will be at the last fund raiser for the year, tentatively scheduled for February 25th @ Webers Wildlife at 7PM. The framed prints will be raffled as a set, since Kristine would like them to stay together. They measure 18″ wide by 14″ tall.
Pictures of both can be seen on the Barnstormer’s Face Book Page.
