Trail Report: Florence County
Reported By: Kevin Huth – Florence County Blue Ox Trails
Date of Report: 03/09/2012
Trail Conditions: Fair
Snow Cover: Not as much as last weekend
Area Report:
SC = State Corridor Trail
F = County Trail
3/9 – Lots of groomer issues this week, so the trails will be hit and miss. Spring Riding conditions have developed since the rain and warm temps on Wednesday. We got about an inch of snow overnight, so there is fresh lube on the trails. The woods are in excellent shape. The plowed roads and open areas are thin to bare.
3/6 – Final tally on snow last week was near the 2 foot mark. Groomers have been out doing the best they can. Looks like we will get at least one more weekend. The temps this week are going to be warm, but the trails should hold up through the weekend. Keep a eye on the weather and I will try to post more information later in the week.
2/29 – major winter storm right now. Well over a foot of snow has been reported with a lot more still forecast. I will not have a detailed trail report until after this weekend. Sorry, very limited Internet where I am at!! You can expect all of the trails to be open and be in great shape by the weekend
