Trail Report For: Ashland County – 12/19/2014

Trail Report: Ashland County

Reported By: Ashland Area Chamber of Commerce

Date of Report: 12/19/2014

Trail Conditions: Trails Closed

Snow Cover: 3-6 inches

Area Report: The snowmobile trails throughout Ashland County are still CLOSED. The trails will open as soon as weather permits.

Due to the warm weather the area recently experienced, much of the snow cover has been lost. Groomers had been packing the trails, but no actual grooming can take place until the area receives sufficient new snowfall. Ashland has received a few inches of snow this week and more is expected the week of Dec. 22, so the trails could be open soon.

The Tri-County Corridor, a 62-mile stretch of abandoned railroad right-of-way running from Ashland to Superior, is always OPEN. The Corridor was groomed today, Dec. 19, and is in great shape, according to Bill Chandler, president of the Ashland County Snowmobile Alliance.
