Reported By: Gary Dalzell/Woodside Cottages
Trail Report: Bayfield
Date of Report: 12/17/2014
Trail Conditions: Fair
Snow Cover: 12-16″
Area Report: With the 6″ of fresh snow earlier this week and 6″ of LES last night, snow depth on the forest road is much improved after the warm up and rain. There is a 4-6″ semi-solid base underneath the new snow which will firm up in the next few days.
There has not been any grooming to date as the groomer is concerned about wet and soft areas. If things go well, the groomer could start working the trails this weekend.
We will be riding Thursday and into the weekend with our cottage guests. Be careful of the hard tire ruts left over from the deer season. They can be difficult to navigate through so be cautious and slow down.
The prospect for good riding in the Bayfield area looks much better going into the holiday season. There is a chance for measurable snow the first part of the coming week and then followed by cold temps after Christmas.
