Sno-Eagles Country Trails &  all of Vilas County Snowmobile Trails are Officially OPEN.

This morning the trails have slipped to POOR riding.  There never was any evil sun at all this weekend but the temps stayed just too high to long.  In my estimation it is time to park the sleds for a while. Even though the sled traffic was low over the weekend when you have this amount of warm weather the snow just goes.  Not the sleds.  It’s the warm.

CATFISH LAKE LOOP & EAGLE LAKE TRAILS are NOT MARKED, NOT SAFE & NOT OPEN so please stay off.  That goes for lakes that are not every lake trails.  You can get into a bunch of trouble running on just any lake.

Today only, December 15 there will be maintenance work done on those huge power poles I call the Petrified Forest section of Trail 10 north & a bit west of Eagle River.  It is marked.  One day only.

Temps are going to drop starting tonight ……to quote the Parks & Recreation Administrator…”THINK SNOW & START DOING THE COLD DANCE!”  There is a forecast of 1-3 between tonight & Wednesday morning. PLUS some undetermined Lake Effect on tap too.  Stay tuned!

See ya on the trails very soon!
