The warm up over the past weekend really did a number on the snowmobile trails throughout Vilas County. Happy to report that your SNOW DANCE WORKED! It started to SNOW early, early this morning. In Eagle River there is from is on average 3 inches of new SNOW! It is SNOWING as I write this report. Along with the SNOW the temps have dropped into the 20’s. High today of 27 & low of 18. With a weeks worth of lower over night temps will start the freeze down of the ground on the trails. Any SNOW that falls lands on a frozen surface & lasts.
No trails grooming at this point. It is necessary to get more SNOW onto the trails before that happens. Then Trail Boss Tom & the drivers start all over building a base. The hard work he & the driver put in disappeared because of 4 days of way too warm weather topped off with rain Sunday & Monday night.
Keep Doing’ the Snow Dance & THINKING COLD! Winter seems to have returned to Vilas County.
See ya on the trails real soon!
