Trail Report: Eagle River
Reported By: Holly Tomlanovich
Date of Report: 12/17/2014
Trail Conditions: Poor
Snow Cover: 6 -8
Sno-Eagles & all of Vilas County Trails are Open.
At present they are in POOR riding condition
The warm up over the past weekend really did a number on the snowmobile trails throughout Vilas County. But the SNOW did return & yesterday during the day there was from 2.5 to 3.5 inches of new SNOW. More late yesterday afternoon into last night. This morning just a bit of Lake Effect Snow falling. Very light.
No trails grooming at this point. It is necessary to get more SNOW onto the trails before that happens. Then Trail Boss Tom & the drivers start all over building a base. The hard work he & the driver put in disappeared because of 4 days of way too warm weather topped off with rain Sunday & Monday night.
Keep Doing’ the Snow Dance & THINKING COLD! Winter seems to have returned to Vilas County.
Merry Christmas & See ya on the trails real soon!
