Trail Report For: Rhinelander – 12/25/2014

Trail Report: Rhinelander

Reported By: Hodag Sno-Trails

Date of Report: 12/25/2014

Trail Conditions: Unknown

Snow Cover: 4-6″ fresh snow

Area Report: The trails are open for the holidays. This is early season riding it the true sense of the phrase. We were able to get the trails open for everyone to have a chance to go out and get there sleds out and ride for the first time.

Be aware that the swamps are still very wet and the groomers have not been able to get to all of the areas until they are packed down and can freeze up. Riders will experience wet areas in the trails. There is a 1 mile section on trail #15 behind the YMCA that is closed temporarily until the swamp can freezed over. Trail #13 to the east or the Trail #8 can be used as alternate routes to get around the east side of Rhinelander.

Stay close to the barrels on the marked lakes. Boom Lake is not marked at this point, as a result, it is recommended to stay away from the County W bridge crossing until ice conditions improve.

The trail reports will be updated as the conditions change.

Please support the trails and join a local club.

Let’s have a fun and safe snowmobiling season!!!
