Reported By: George – Sayner Barnstormers
Trail Report: Sayner
Date of Report: 12/09/2014
Trail Conditions: Trails Closed
Snow Cover: 1 to 6 inches on the trail
Area Report: Vilas County trails are currently scheduled to open this Friday, December 12th, at 4PM – conditions permitting. Early season conditions will exist, including ruts and holes that we have not had enough snow yet to fill in.
The current weather forecast does not look good, however, for the first days of open trails. We are supposed to see quite a warm up starting Thursday with possible light rain for Sunday. While we do have a good start to building the base – we do not have enough base to sustain much warm weather and/or rain. This does NOT spell doom for the season. You have to make the best of all situations. With the warm up and any possible rain – as long as the temps drop again later next week – this COULD set a rock solid base that will make the trails better for the season.
Stay tuned to your favorite trail report and/or weather forecast.
We do have extensive logging happening on our western trails out towards Arbor Vitae. This includes trails 11, 51, and 15. Please be ready to encounter logging trucks and/or other equipment on the trails. Do your best to get out of their way or turn around as quickly as you can. These loggers are not out there to try to ruin your snowmobiling experience. They are out there trying to make a living, just like you and me.
