Trail Conditions: Early Season

Snow Cover: 1 to 4″ on the trail

Area Report: Logging on trail # 6, 10w,and 11 from tin 205 to tin 353 be aware that this includes portion on plum Vitae road. On trail 11 ,51 from tin 352, to tin 344 there will be logging and hauling all winter I have been told there will be more logging in all areas of the NHNF as long as prices of wood stay’s high was also told that many loggers will move into cut as soon as grounds freezes all Barnstormer trails have been panned a couple of times there is still heavy traffic ( trucks ) on all forestry roads and many trails are rutted , we need more snow Muskellunge road trails rutted and in some places 11-15 Starret lake road and nebbish lake road are rutted as these trails are panned truck traffic ruts them up we cannot block these roads to traffic if the road is on a tax base we cannot shut it off . from west plum lake tin204 to ross lake road tin225, and to highway 70 tin 364 rutted please be aware this is early conditions we do need more snow and cooler weather was told trails will open 4:00pm on Dec.12 Friday Hope this lets everyone know what to expect . – Denny
