Trail Report For: Watersmeet – 12/07/2014

Trail Report: Watersmeet

Reported By: Carole Yakel for Watersmeet Chamber of Commerce

Date of Report: 12/07/2014

Trail Conditions: Good

Snow Cover: 1 – 2 feet

Area Report: Our groomers have been on the trails daily here since December 1. Our trails are in good early season shape. There are some wet spots on the Trail 2 between Trail 13 North and Mareinisco and also on Trail 13 South heading to Rogers Bar and the Cisco Chain. Lakes are NOT safe yet, so please do not venture out on them! Tonight’s and tomorrow night’s temps are to be 8 and 10 degrees which should help. Starting on Thursday, they are predicting three days of highs of 33 to 37 but nights will be in the mid 20s those nights. Other nights will be from 8 to 19 degrees. We have enough weather that we should be able to withstand a few days of partially cloudy above-freezing days.

We would like to make a correction from a couple of other snowmobile reports that we have seen in the past couple of days. Cisco Lake Resort on Cisco Lake on the Cisco Chain has closed it’s doors. It was reported that there is no gas on the Cisco Chain. We are happy to report that there are a number of other resorts on the Cisco Chain on Thousand Island Lake and Mamie that do have gas. Rest assured that you will have fuel for your sleds when you come to the Cisco Chain!

It’s a great time to start planning your next trip up to Watersmeet! We have great places to stay from resorts to private homes to motels to a historic hotel and a casino resort complex. We can accommodate anyone and everyone here! Plus we have snowmobile repairs, sales, and rentals right here as well. Great food, all your grocery and supply needs, friendly people, gifts to bring home, and everything you may want is available right here in the Watersmeet area.

We hope to see you soon. For more information, please visit our website at www.watersmeet.org. You can call our chamber number at 906-358-9961 for a live report. Caryl will be gone for a few days, so there’s a recorded message or you can call me at 906-358-4390 or email at visit@watersmeet.org.

“Stay where you Play”! We hope to see you real soon!
