Trail Report: Ashland County
Reported By: Ashland Area Chamber of Commerce
Date of Report: 01/02/2015
Trail Conditions: Trails Closed
Snow Cover: 4-12″
Area Report: The snowmobile trails throughout Ashland County are still officially CLOSED! However, snowmobilers are advised they may currently ride at their own risk. The trails will open as soon as weather permits.
Due to the warm weather the area had been experiencing, much of the snow cover was lost, but new snow of up to 8-10 inches fell in the southern portions of Ashland County over the Christmas holiday.
The Ashland area forecast for this weekend (Jan. 3-4) calls for some snow and colder temperatures with highs below freezing, so the outlook is favorable for the trails to open soon.
Please continue to check our website, www.visitashland.com, for detailed reports or call the Snowmobile Report Hotline at 1-800-284-9484 after 5 p.m. weekdays or anytime on weekends.
The Tri-County Corridor, a 62-mile stretch of abandoned railroad right-of-way running from Ashland to Superior, is always OPEN.
