Area Report: The snowmobile trails throughout Ashland County are OPEN, groomed and in good condition!
The Tri-County Corridor, a 62-mile stretch of abandoned railroad right-of-way running from Ashland to Superior, is always OPEN. The Corridor was also recently groomed and is in great shape with a good, smooth surface for riding, according to Bill Chandler, president of the Ashland County Snowmobile Alliance.

Important note: There is no snowmobiling allowed from Ashland to Bad River/Odanah as snowmobiling is not permitted on reservation land. However, snowmobiling is allowed from Bad River east to the Upper Peninsula of Michigan.

Ashland’s King of the Bay Snowmobile Drag Races will be Saturday, Feb. 7, 2015, at Maslowski Beach. Held on the ice of Lake Superior’s Chequamegon Bay, this exciting event offers hot snowmobile racing action with 660-foot tracks on both shaved ice and groomed snow.
