Trail Report: Bergland
Reported By: AJ’s Walleye Lodge
Date of Report: 01/23/2015
Trail Conditions: Fair
Snow Cover: Modest
Area Report: Lake Gogebic area trails are being put to the test with hundreds of sledders in the area and warmer temps in the forecast. All 3 groomers have been out to help keep the trails in the best shape possible. Today and Saturday temps are going to be in the 30’s and then dropping into the teens by Sunday. Hopefully, the evening temps drop enough to help to hold things tight. Snow is in the forecast and we’ll have to see how that pans out.
There is a reroute over the area where trails 1, 102 and 8 West intersect. Work on the highline will begin Monday January 26th so we are in the midst of rerouting with the help from the DNR. Watch for changes and new signing in this area’. Click on the link below to view a map of the re-route: http://www.walleyelodge.com/snowmobile-re-route/
Just a reminder that riders are not to be traveling along the railroad grade. DNR has been handing out tickets. Please be safe and use good judgment. We’ll update you as our riders come in with their daily updates and just hope that the weather forecast changes!
That’s it for now – we are gearing up for the 6th Annual Lake Gogebic Ice Fishing Tournament this weekend and it’s looking like a very promising weekend for fishing!
