Trail Report: Hayward / Sawyer County
Reported By: Hayward Lakes Visitors & Convention Bureau
Date of Report: 01/09/2015
Trail Conditions: Very Good
Snow Cover: 4 to 12 inches of snow
Area Report: Hello Riders!!
Let it snow! Let it snow! Let it snow! We’ve been getting some snow today and received about 3″ or so that have freshened up our trails. The northern county woods trails have about a 6″ base and the groomers are out. The trails right now are in fair to good condition, the trails out in the open area’s are a bit more sparse. As the snow continues this evening it looks very favorable to bring the trails to good to very good condition if we do get at least the 4″ they predict.
The Tuscobia is groomed and in good condition. Trail #5 south to Rusk County line has been groomed, but Rusk County trails are not yet open.
Most lakes are staked and have very good ice thickness. With the busy holiday season most of the lake trails have been packed down and are a much smoother ride. Some lakes do have ice heaves and as always everyone is advised to stay on the marked trails.
A big thank you goes out to the club volunteers and members for maintaining the trails. The clubs are always looking for new members. Looking to join or how to help give us a call!
Get out there and enjoy the Sawyer County Trails!
Don’t forget ATV trails are also open and great for riding!
GET OUT THERE AND HAVE SOME FUN!!
