Trail Report: Keweenaw Peninsula / Houghton-Hancock, South Range, Copper Harbor
Reported By: Tammi the Trail Goddess at Dan’s Recreation
Date of Report: 01/04/2015
Trail Conditions: Very Good
Snow Cover: 20″ – 30″
Area Report: Reports from the riders coming in are that the trails are great today. They got a little rough the last couple of days because there were so many riders out there but the groomers are out and getting them in shape. All trails are open from the tip of the Keweenaw Peninsula all the way down through Twin Lakes and beyond. Groomers are out everyday working on them. There had been some wet spots but with the super cold temps that we are having, that should take care of them. Off trail riding is a bit spotty because of the lower snow conditions, snow is forecast for everyday for as long as I can see though, so that will take care of that too. The mat will not be down under the bridge until the middle of the month but you can still ride the trail under the bridge. Please take it slow and do not use the lake. It is not safe!!
