Trail Report: Manitowish Waters
Reported By: Barry Hopkins
Date of Report: 01/22/2015
Trail Conditions: Good
Snow Cover: 12″ – 16″
Area Report: Our trails are in good condition. Do continue to ride carefully and slow through the corners, there will be alot of traffic again this weekend. I rode over to “The Idle Hour Tuesday” through Flambeau across their marked lakes to Chequamagon trail 142 and 144 back up to Springstead, then 182 to 17 to 8 back to MW. 8 was a bit choppy between Lazy Ace and MW trails but not bad. All other trails were good. I did mention Lakes, some clubs have trails on the lakes MW does not. Stay off of the lakes unless you are in an area that has marked trails on lakes. Then stay on those marked trails. People are still getting stuck in the slush off of the trails. The problem is we had alot of early season snow on top of very little ice, so the lakes remain slushy.
