Trail Report: Rhinelander

Date of Report: 01/02/2015
Trail Conditions: Fair
Snow Cover: 8-12 in the woods
Area Report: Everyday the trails are getting better. As of Thursday, the club has been able to get the groomers out and start on the trails. The swamps only have become safe for groomer travel in the last few days. All of the groomers are out on a daily basis now. There are a few minor wet spots they will continue to avoid in the short term. The trails are completely safe for snowmobile traffic, it is just the significant weight of the groomers and drags that need to be kept in mind.
All of the lakes on the trail system have beem marked. The slushy areas have been frozen over on the trail areas. Some rough spots are out there from the frozen slush. They will get better as traffic wears the tops of the bumps down.
The cold snap headed are way this way next week should ensure the groomers can hit all trails in the near future.
Please support the trails and join a local club.
