Trail Report For: Watersmeet – 01/21/2015

Trail Report: Watersmeet

Reported By: Carole Yakel from The Arrows for Watersmeet Chamber of Commerce

Date of Report: 01/21/2015

Trail Conditions: Very Good

Snow Cover: 20″ or so

Area Report: Hi everyone ~

Our trails took a hit last weekend with warm temps and hundreds of sledders, but our groomers have worked their magic again daily or nightly. Our trails are in at least very good shape again. I do have some concern that we are looking at another weekend that might have one day around 34 degrees. We can hope that it’s not a sunny day on top of it! If you’re coming up before the weekend, you should be enjoying little traffic and great trails. If you’re coming up this weekend, we would recommend early sledding after the cold nights. We have a little snow predicted a couple days, but it will be nice to get out of these warmer temps. It hasn’t been that warm, but it’s still a little nerve-wracking!

If you are coming to the area, we invite you to “stay where you play”. We have great places here from resorts and vacation homes to ma and pa motels, to a historical hotel, and a casino resort complex. We have been asked many times if resorts and homes will take daily rentals like the motels and hotels. Yes, most of them are more than happy to split things up in the winter time. We invite you to visit our website at www.watersmeet.org for more information on all the great businesses here in our area.

Caryl answers our Chamber phone from her home and will give you honest up-to-date reports on our trails or information on accommodations or anything else in our area. Our phone number is 906-358-0117. You can email questions to me at visit@watersmeet.org, too.

Rumors are still spreading about no gas on the Cisco Chain. We just had a couple calls this past couple of days. Please know that even though Cisco Lake Resort is closed, you can still get gas at Wilderness Bay Resort (906-358-9956), The Arrows (906-358-4390), and Vacationland Resort (906-358-4380).

Thanks for checking out our report. We hope you’ll come up soon for a great sledding trip. You’ll know you’ll enjoy it here as much as we do!
