Trail Report For: Watersmeet – 01/28/2015

Trail Report: Watersmeet

Reported By: Carole Yakel of The Arrows for the Watersmeet Chamber of Commerce

Date of Report: 01/28/2015

Trail Conditions: Very Good

Snow Cover: 20″ or so

Area Report: Hi Everyone ~

We received around 3″ of snow in the past day or two here. All of the Watersmeet trails are in good to excellent shape thanks to the great work of our U. P. Thunder Rider Snowmobile Club groomers. They continue to groom daily or nightly to keep everything in tip-top shape.

This is the grooming report we received:

Trail 2 east of Watersmeet is good to excellent.
Trail 2 west of Watersmeet is good to excellent with some icy corners in the woods.
Trail 13 south is good to excellent with some icy corners.
Trails 3 north is good to excellent but expect icy corners.

When out on the Cisco Chain, please be sure to follow the orange barrels. Earlier reports said there was no gas on the Chain, but please know that it is available at Vacationland Resort, The Arrows Resort on Thousand Island Lake Road across from Wilderness Bay, and at Wilderness Bay Resort.

The past couple of weekends have been very busy here. Some thawing gave the groomers a real workout, but temps are getting colder again. We have the first of the colder temps which is so great to see again. We’re hoping the new snows will follow, but we are trails are great even without it.

Come on up soon and try out our area for your next snowmobiling trip. We have great places to stay from resorts and vacation homes to motels and hotels. There’s something for everyone. Come on up where the people are friendly and want to help your get away be the best yet. We have three snowmobile rental places, three repair places, and two for parts besides great places to eat, shop, and enjoy the northwoods.

We hope to see you real soon. Thanks for visiting our report. We invite you to visit our website at www.watersmeet.org. If you want a live report, call Caryl at 906-358-9961 or email me at visit@watersmeet.org. Come on up and “stay where you play”. You won’t want to leave!!!
