Trail Report: Keweenaw Peninsula / Houghton-Hancock, South Range, Copper Harbor
Reported By: Tammi the Trail Goddess
Date of Report: 02/18/2015
Trail Conditions: Very Good
Snow Cover: 30-40″
Area Report: So the cold is quite a bummer! But there are still a ton of hardy riders braving the weather and getting in some fantastic riding. We have been getting snow every day, some days only a couple of inches, but that’s enough! All the trails are open and being groomed except for trail 122 from Lake Linden to Gay. You can still access Gay from trail 124 and 133 so don’t miss this great little stop.
There is a groomer down on the Houghton side right now, but they are working hard on getting it back up before the weekend. There is still one covering so grooming is getting done.
Trails from Ontonagon to Copper Harbor are reported to be in great shape. This is according to guys who rode them! The weekend looks to be cool but wonderful for riding, so head on up.
Remember to respect others on the trail and private property, don’t drink and ride, and stay off all ice!
