Trail Report: Oconto County

Reported By: Oconto County Tourism

Date of Report: 03/09/2015

Trail Conditions: Poor

Snow Cover: 1-4

Area Report: Lakewood & Townsend
Paul Bunyan-Lakewood: Trail boss Jack Bailey reports most trails are in poor condition. The sun & warm temperatures was too much for the base. We will not be grooming unless we receive at least 6 inches of new snow. The temps for this week will be in the mid to upper forties. Our groomers did a great job this season bringing us great trails with very little snow to work with. If you choose to ride watch out for bare spots and rocks on the trails.

Red Arrow-Townsend: Our Trails have gone downhill fast, and will continue to decline with the forecast in the 40’s to near 50. Corners are almost bare and are very icy. The Nicolet is bare in many spots and dirt is everywhere. Low lying areas have pooled full of water. Grooming has ceased until further notice, ride at your own risk. Be Safe!!

Suring & Mountain
Chute Pond Snowmobile Club – Trails took a beating today with the warm weather. Groomers are out now that it cooled down again. Hopefully we will get a few more days of riding in. We will be out grooming again Sunday night march 8th. After it cools down again. Trails remain in fair to good condition. Ride with caution as a lot of corners are getting bare.
