Trail Report: Sayner
Date of Report: 03/04/2015
Trail Conditions: Good
Snow Cover: Good!
Area Report: .
Back below 0 we go as we head out this Wednesday morning – currently at -4 in Sayner. The high for today is expected to be around 7. Yesterday’s snow was within the forecasted range (at least the one I watch). The Sayner area ended up with around 3 inches (+/-). The great part is that it is heavier snow that will do a lot of good. We’d rather have 3 inches of heavier snow before 6 inches of fluff. This weekend could possibly be the last decent weekend for riding. The forecast is calling for low 30s this weekend along with more light snow possible. Low 40s is the prediction for Monday to Wednesday and middle 30s after that. If we see too much sun during this period, it could all go to hell in a heartbeat. Grab it while you can!!!
The most heavily traveled sections will become very snirty again with traffic. Approach every corner like it will be solid ice.
We still have logging operations working on Trail 51 between intersections 344 & 352 and on 6/11 between intersections 205 & 353. This will probably continue for the rest of the season. Please keep an eye out for logging ahead signs, logging equipment, and logging trucks. Do everything you can to get and stay out of their way. Please watch for their directions. These people are not out there to ruin your snowmobiling experience. They are out there trying to make a living.
As always, PLEASE RIDE SAFE!!! Expect the unexpected. Respect especially the groomers and also other riders. You are not the only one on the trail, so always expect traffic to be coming at you around every corner.
