Date of Report: 12/29/2015

Trail Conditions: Early Season

Area Report: The Ashland County snowmobile trail gates are MOSTLY OPEN!

The Tri-County Recreational Corridor has been groomed and the gates to the Ashland County snowmobile trails have been opened. However, there is a temporary closure in effect on Trail 9 from Ashland to Sanborn.
Ride on the other county trails at your own risk as they have not been groomed yet due to some areas still having water on the trails. The southern part of Ashland County did not receive as much snow as the northern portion (City of Ashland), which got more than 10 inches in some places.

Important note: There is NO snowmobiling allowed from Ashland to Bad River/Odanah as snowmobiling is not permitted on reservation land. However, snowmobiling is allowed from Bad River east to the Upper Peninsula of Michigan.

Offering FREE admission, this popular event attracts more than 1,000 spectators and 35-40 horse units participate each year.
