Trail Report: Cable
Reported By: Cable Chamber of Commerce
Date of Report: 12/29/2015
Trail Conditions: Fair
Snow Cover: 8-12″
Area Report: Tuesday, December 29, 2015
We did not pick up additional snow from the latest storm to roll through Northern Wisconsin, but we are expecting an additional 2″ tonight.
The Namakagon Trail Groomers have been out clearing trees that were downed from the heavy snowfall we received around Christmas, which dumped about 12″ in our area. The trail groomers have also been rolling the trails and will continue to do so until conditions allow for the heavy tractors to pull the drag over swamps. They hope to have the entire trail system rolled again yet today.
Lakes continue to have low ice and riders are strongly encouraged to stay off the lakes until stick trails are up. Sleds have been going through the ice on lakes in Sawyer County.
You can ride about 90% of our trail system without crossing over lakes.
