Trail Report: Hayward / Sawyer County

Reported By: Hayward Lakes Visitors & Convention Bureau

Date of Report: 01/22/2016

Trail Conditions: Very Good

Snow Cover: 10-14 inches

Area Report: The majority of trails in Northern Sawyer County are GROOMED and in VERY GOOD to EXCELLENT condition.

The Tuscobia Trail is groomed, spur trails off of the Tuscobia have some snow, though not all are groomed, due to the swampy areas not completely frozen. With the cold weather now, these areas should freeze good before the weekend, although they may be a bit rough.

All of the major lake trails are frozen and staked: Moose, Nelson, Spider, Lost Land, Round, Grindstone, Lac Courte Oreilles, Callahan, Sand, Lake Chetac, Long Lake, TigerCat, and the Chippewa Flowage, ***One Exception is Lake Hayward – is NOT STAKED at this time, due to thin ice in several areas.

There are ice heaves on some lake, please stay on the marked trails.
As always, Be safe and Have fun!!
