Trail Conditions: Early Season
Snow Cover: 8 to 10 inches
Area Report: Trail gates are open… but caution is needed when riding. We have around 8 to 10 inches of snow cover on the trails. You’ll find more snow on the northern trails. Caution when riding Trail #15 North.. this trail will take you through a couple swampy areas. Again… please remember we are about a month behind on snowfall so we are stating conditions as “EARLY SEASON RIDING”.
Trail #2 is in fair condition… Trail #107 is in fair to good condition… Trail #16 – fair condition.. Trail #113 – fair condition.. Trail #18 fair condition.
Snow is in the forecast for a couple inches of snowfall each day beginning today through Saturday. It sounds like all connecting trail systems are now open.. again limited snow cover on most trails.
News & Events: ICE FISHING – lakes are all looking pretty good now with the negative temps this past week. Don’t forget about Michigan’s “Free Fishing” weekend coming up in February.
Local “ski resort” is “100 % OPEN and going strong.
Ironline “sled dog” & “fat bike” races are both scheduled for January 29th & 30th. Races “begin and end” at the IC Chamber office in Iron River.
“Snow Shoeing in Iron County” has become very popular this year with the addition of the new “IC bike trail”. The 14 mile trail runs between Iron River & Chicaugon Lake Inn… while winding in & out of the woods the entire way.
