Area Report: SNOW & TRAIL CONDITIONS:
Good morning! We need snow and we need snow – and it looks like we may just be getting it! There is snow in the forecast every day for the next 10 days and John Dee is forecasting up to a possible 2’ in our area from the 11th-15th of January.
Groomers stopped by yesterday morning as they were out on the trails filling and packing wet spots as we’ve got some wicked cold weather coming in and they are trying to tighten things up. They didn’t have drags on, but have been doing the best they can to keep things passable. Had some riders in that said that the grade from Bergland to Ewen was good and trail 1 North was in decent shape as well. Friday and Saturday we are supposed to get from 1-3” – and how that shapes up – we will have to wait and see.
There is some travel on the lake, however, extreme (let us say again – extreme) caution is urged. Temps will be dropping to single digits by Saturday, and Sunday we have subzero temps forecasted with single digits through the middle of next week. Those temps, compounded with John Dee’s forecast could produce some excellent conditions –the kind you expect from this Lake Gogebic area! Keep your fingers cross – we are all itchin’ to ride as well!
