Trail Report For: Minocqua

Reported By: Tom Bird

Date of Report: 01/12/2016

Trail Conditions: Early Season

Snow Cover: 6″

Area Report: Cross Country Cruiser trails have improved some. Trails near town are still thin with snow but improve as you travel north. Trail 5 along Hwy 51 N is fair to good with a few rough spots near N Farming Rd. Corridor 10 & 17 have improved too good to very good. Trails 3,6,51 are also good to very good. Trails 11 towards Sayner is in good condition with a couple thin spots. Remember there are log trucks hauling on the north end of Vandercook, slow down and use caution in that area. The colder temps have allowed us to groom through all of our low areas. The new trail section of the 47 trail (In the high lines between Woodruff Rd and Gritzmachen Rd) has some rough spots that we need more snow to fill in. Please use caution by the substation. The Bearskin trail is fair. The Hwy 70 W trail in town is in poor condition. Remember not to go on any lakes that are not marked. These colder temperatures are helping the lakes build ice but they will not be marked until there is adequate ice to be safe, so if they are not marked stay off. Snake lake is marked follow the markers. We will be grooming nightly this weekend, and there is some light snow in the forecast. Ride right ride safe!
