Trail Report For: Price County – Park Falls, Phillips & Prentice – 01/08/2016

Trail Report:

Reported By: Price County Tourism Department

Date of Report: 01/08/2016

Trail Conditions: Early Season

Snow Cover: 3-11

Area Report: We have an inch or two of new heavy, wet snow. Trails are officially open, but they are not groomed and some areas are impassible due to swamps or creeks not being frozen or trees down, some gates may still be closed, and the trails are rough, rocky and wet in some areas. Ride with caution. More snow and colder temps are needed before grooming can begin. Temperatures are predicted to cool into the single digits beginning Sunday which will help freeze the wet areas. Lakes are currently NOT safe for riding. Snowmobile club members have been riding some trails in preparation for panning and/or grooming. Visit our website at www.pricecountywi.net to view detailed trail reports. The trails remain open to snowmobiling through March 31, 2016. Winter ATV and UTV riding is allowed on approximately 100 miles of trail; visit our website for more ATV trail information.
