TRAIL CONDITION REPORT
FINALLY we are getting some winter weather. Our temps for this coming weekend will be in the single digits for highs and below zero for the lows with some snow in the forecast. This will help to firm up our wet spots. Things are finally starting to look up.
The former GOGEBIC RANGE TRAIL AUTHORITY now known as the SNOW SHAKERS are reporting:
Trail 2 from Bessemer to Ironwood is groomed and is in very good condition.
Trail 2 from Bessemer to Wakefield is groomed and in good to very good condition.
Trail 2 from Wakefield to Marenisco is in good to very good condition.
Trail 8 from Wakefield to Tula is good to very good.
Trail 160 will be groomed Saturday and has some wet spots so use caution. It is in early season condition.
Reminder that trail 11 north and 11 south are closed for this winter season. The section of trail from 11N to 11 up to trail 102 is not being groomed due to the closure of 11N.
PLEASE STAY ON MARKED TRAILS, RIDING ON A UNMARKED TRAIL MAY RESULT IN THE CLUB LOOSING EASEMENT TO THE PROPERTY. THIS IS VERY IMPORTANT.
Groomers are out both day and night. Please watch out for them and slow down and wait for the operator to signal you by. Groomers have the right of way.
The LAKE GOGEBIC AREA GROOMERS are reporting:
they are continuing to fill in any wet problem areas. There is a large wet hole on the south end of 13 south, between the lake and Trail 2, but drivers are doing their best to fill it in.
The groomers have been on Trail 8 west, but watch for some wet areas near the county line along Hwy 28.
Trail 102 is in good condition, but watch for logging trucks as they have the right of way at all times.
Trail 1 south is in fair condition with some wet areas between Fishtails and the Hoop ‘N Holler Tavern. Sleds should be able to get thru this area.
Trail 13 north has been groomed.
Trail 8 east is in good condition.
Please check locally for lake conditions. It is changing hourly.
WATERSMEET GROOMERS are reporting:
Trail 2 west is good
Trail 2 east is good
Trail 3 north is good
Trail 3 south is good
Trail 13 south is good. In other words…all trails are good.
