Trail Report: Keweenaw Peninsula / Houghton-Hancock, South Range, Copper Harbor
Reported By: Tammi the Trail Goddess at Dan’s Recreation
Date of Report: 02/18/2016
Trail Conditions: Very Good
Snow Cover: 36″-40″
Area Report: For everybody out there freaking out because it has been warmer this week, stop! It was not nearly as warm as predicted, and it was very cold at night! So we did not lose all the snow that you think. Trails are still all open and all being groomed and in great condition. This weekend looks to be super busy, like all the past few weekends, so please take it easy out there. There is still over 3 feet of snow out there on the trails, so even a little rain (which I very doubt will reach us up here in the Keweenaw) will do much damage. Load your sleds or your gear and head up to ride.
Remember to slow it down out there on the trails, save the drinking for after the riding, stay off all water and respect others on the trail and private property.
Happy riding and see you on the trails!
