Reported By: Oconto County Tourism
Date of Report: 02/22/2016
Trail Conditions: Poor
Snow Cover: 0-2
Area Report: Townsend – Red Arrow Trails – The trails are gravel, rocks, and ice. No grooming until we have something to groom again. The trails are in “POOR” condition.
Lakewood – Paul Bunyan Trails – The warm temperature and rain took a huge toll on the trails Friday. There were still riders out on Friday and throughout the night. As of 8 am it is already 40 degrees. The entire next weeks temperature is above normal with little snow expected. If and when we receive more snow we will resume grooming.
Chute Pond Trails – Chute Pond trails are open, but we are not grooming at this time. Our trails are in overall poor condition. They are mostly ice with some bare spots, and riding is not recommended at this time. We need at least 2-4″ of snow to get the trails back into ride able condition.
Bagley & Brazeau Trails – The groomer drivers said that the trails are in good condition with some bare spots on the open fields. The new trail going to Suring is not good, we need more snow to get it flat. The temps this weekend will be in the upper 40’s so try not to rip up the trails this weekend.
Gillett, Oconto Falls, Lena and Chase Area are all CLOSED.
