Trail Report: Oconto County

Reported By: Oconto County Tourism

Date of Report: 02/29/2016

Trail Conditions: Poor

Snow Cover: 0-2

Area Report: Townsend – Red Arrow Trails – We received about an inch of snow yesterday, but that’s back in the air again today with the strong winds we are experiencing now. The trails are in POOR condition to put it mildly. Yesterday took it’s toll on them. The Nicolet grade is all gravel in areas, and scattered gravel in others. The woods fared a lot better with being hidden from the sun in most areas, but aren’t very good either. The trails are still open but best not to ride them until we get more snow. No sense beating up your carbides or slide rails.

Lakewood – Paul Bunyan Trails – What a difference a week makes. The high temps have pretty much depleted the trails. Hopefully the temperatures will cool down and we will receive more much needed snow. At this time the trails are not looking good. We will keep you updated if there are any changes.

Chute Pond Trails – Chute Pond trails are open, but not ride able at this time. Our trails are in poor condition. We may be nearing the end of our season if we don’t get more snow soon.

Bagley & Brazeau Trails – Due to the decline of snow, the B & B Joyriders trails are now closed.

Gillett, Bagley and Brazeau, Oconto Falls, Lena and Chase Area are all CLOSED.
