Trail Conditions: Fair
Snow Cover: 2 inches +/- On The Trail
Area Report: –
As a reminder on “Snow Cover” above; I report what is actually on the trail. Reporting the “Snow Cover” in the woods makes things sound much better but your riding on the trail – not in the woods.
The trails remain rideable and in my opinion – fair on average. Near towns or busy trail intersections – they are very brown and snirty. As always this time of year, there is a lot of great riding deep in the woods but to get to that great riding you have to ride trails that are not great.
The number one word for the trails right now is ICE! Be aware and please be careful. Having good ice picks and carbides are highly recommended. Scratchers are also recommended for better lube & cooling.
So far the lakes are not slushy but as always remain on the marked crossings. But that can change in a heartbeat.
Riding right with caution is riding smart!!! Slow down and ride another day!!!
