Trail Report: Ashland County
Reported By: Ashland County
Date of Report: 03/06/2016
Trail Conditions: Fair
Snow Cover: 5-12
Area Report: Ashland County Snowmobile Report for March 6, 2016
The Ashland County snowmobile trails are
OPEN, groomed and in fair condition.
The trails north of Mellen are CLOSED at this time. Trails south of Mellen are in fair shape. The snow cover in some areas is thin, but trails south of Mellen are still rideable. Snowmobilers may encounter some water in a few places, but all of the trails are passable.
Snowmobilers are urged to be extremely careful and exercise due caution as there is ongoing trail work. Riders should also watch for a couple of detours.
The trails in southern Ashland County around Mellen, Glidden and Clam Lake are in better shape because that area received more snow and the trails are shaded more in the forest so they have retained more snow cover.
The Tri-County Recreational Corridor from Ashland west to Superior is being groomed 2-3 times a week and is also in decent shape for riding.
This might be the final weekend of the season for all of you snowmobilers, so we hope you have a chance to get out there and enjoy our trail.
