Trail Conditions: Poor

Snow Cover: 10-16 inches

Area Report: Groomer Report: Trail grooming has been discontinued for the remainder of the season.

Ely Area Lakes: With warm air conditions and some light rain this past week, expect to find areas of slush and standing water. Ice conditions vary from lake-to-lake. Some open areas are being reported by local snowmobilers who advise staying off lakes if you are not familiar with areas that traditionally have current flow. Staked lake trails will be removed over the next week or two.

Babbitt Trails: No report
Taconite Trail: Base: 2-4” Condition: Poor Last groomed: Saturday, March 5

Arrowhead Trail: Base: 1-3” Condition: Poor Last groomed: Saturday, March 5

Putnam-Fishing Lakes Trail: Last groomed: Thursday, March 3

Lake Vermilion State Park and Soudan Underground Mine State Park: Last groomed: Wednesday, March 2

Taconite Spur Trails and Stony Spur Trails: No report

Tomahawk Trail & Local Trails: Trails were last groomed Sunday, March 6. There are some bare patches on trails from 5-10 feet in length.
