View Full Version : Wheelmobile?
I have been sittin around basking in the sun and 60 degree weather and I had an idea, scary isn't it! I got this old mid 90s snowmobile thats liquid cooled and I'm ponderin on puttin wheels off the old quad that dont run under it and installing a car type radiator on it with an electric fan. Will it work? How was that for some senseless ramblin?
Second thought, maybe..............................pontoons an a prop!!

You would need a radiator for sure i have seen some people put fans under the rear exchange as well to cool it back there and then you would want a quad radiator or something small like that and mount it in there.
You also have to do something about the skid, possibly a few more idlers a little over sized to make reduce the hifax contact.
It is definetly something that can be done however not sure what type of riding you would get away with as throwing the dirt and stuff around might get into some of the bearing and such, maybe not as big of a deal as getting the grit inside the cross shafts.
Yea a little damp - 45degrees, 1"+ of rain = sux! Its not supposed to be like this in the middle of Febuary!!!!!!
On the other thing, I've got this quad with a motor that keeps going south. My thought was to take the whole swingarm, rear axle assembly, and chain drive it right off the drive shaft of the sled. Then for the front, make the spindle/wheel assembly (with brakes!) work on the front. Re-jet, cool as necessary, and wa-la Quadmobile is born!!!

Seen a fellow in Alantic Mine a few years ago with a polaris set up with quad gear on a fire lane.
Used the small front wheels set up on some home made spindles. had a pair of the wider rear wheels on home made shafts and bearings in the tunnel and ran the chain off a gear on the drive shaft. Guys with him with q2uads said he kept up with them just fine.
