Well, one of America's most memorable icons from the 70's, and one of my favorite celebrites has passed. http://sportsillustrated.cnn.com/2007/more/11/30/kneviel.ap/index.html?cnn=yes . Rest in peace EVEL KNIEVEL. You were truely a hard arse to the end, and showed everybody in the world that Americans don't take it from anybody, lol.

Back in the days when old H-man was a young pup, it was Evel who inspired me to jump my big wheel off of truck loading docks at age 6, along with my BMX bikes in later years. When you really think of it, how may kids started pulling stunts on bikes, skate boards, and such. Dude really had a major influence on that eara, and possibly could be called the godfather of extreme sports as we now know it. Just look at freestyle competitions, and you'll see what has grown out of doing simple straitline jumps (on a HARLEY no less).

He was a true American legend, and innovator.
He always seem to think of new ways to raise the bar.

RIP Evil!!!

Not many out there could ever inspired the dooed to launch his inverted handle bar 10 speed style bottle rocket powered bike over two yes two metal garbage cans!!!

Needless to say I wiped big time and from then on I respected the man who could literally fly thru the air and smack down his carcass on the landing ramp tumble'n like a gelatiness filled stars n stripes ragdoll suit down all for a moment of 10 seconds worth of entertainment...

Peace
Dooed

Jim Rome replayed an interview he did with Evel. Evel listed 5 things that were important in leading a happy, successful life:

Belief in God
Health
Do something you love
Find someone to love
Have a dream

I would have thought he would have thrown in "defy death every chance you get".

Truly one of a kind. RIP

Those Rome interviews were classic. Best response ever after being asked a question.."DO YOU KNOW WHO I AM?"
