Well, one of America's most memorable icons from the 70's, and one of my favorite celebrites has passed. http://sportsillustrated.cnn.com/2007/more/11/30/kneviel.ap/index.html?cnn=yes . Rest in peace EVEL KNIEVEL. You were truely a hard arse to the end, and showed everybody in the world that Americans don't take it from anybody, lol.
Back in the days when old H-man was a young pup, it was Evel who inspired me to jump my big wheel off of truck loading docks at age 6, along with my BMX bikes in later years. When you really think of it, how may kids started pulling stunts on bikes, skate boards, and such. Dude really had a major influence on that eara, and possibly could be called the godfather of extreme sports as we now know it. Just look at freestyle competitions, and you'll see what has grown out of doing simple straitline jumps (on a HARLEY no less).
