Hey guys, we're planning a ride this Saturday in the Watersmeet area I'm looking for some reports and advise. Which way would you ride from the Casino? How are the trails. Thanks in advance.

Thanks Bob, but I'm also checking to see if anybody has advise on what is the best way to ride from Watersmeet.
I just talked with someone in Land O'lakes and they said they have a ton of snow and we could probably ride from the State line..leave the trailor by the RustyNail. Anyone done that this year. That would be a great day trip from Eagle River.
How about Ironwood? Most of the sites for Michigan trail info are not updated as of this post.
Who's in for a ride on Saturday?

Dave,
You should read this.....
Date of Report: December 3, 2007
Trail Conditions: Fair
Snow Cover: 12-14 inches
Area Report: The snow is coming and since Saturday, we have 12-14 inches of moist packable snow. We started grooming last night, sending the groomer out to pack and pan the trails, preparing a good solid base that can freeze down and last.
Our local trails are open and rideable, and you can ride into Michigan, but not our whole system
and they are not open county wide. Most gates on private land, and all gates on public lands are closed and will remain so until after the special nine day antlerless deer hunt which ends December 9th. Gates will begin to open on the tenth, but not all as the inspections will not be complete until a few days later. The County is shooting for the 14th as the official opening date. PLEASE NOTE: IF YOU ENCOUNTER A CLOSED GATE, TURN AROUND! IF YOU GO AROUND A CLOSED GATE YOU ARE TRESSPASSING, SUBJECT TO HEAVY FINES AND YOU MAY BE THE CAUSE OF LOOSING THAT TRAIL!
We will open all of our gates on the 10th for our trails, but that may not be the case county wide.
There are swamps and wet areas that require due caution. Please ride responsibly and safetly!
NOTE: THE ESTIMATED DATE OF THE OFFICIAL TRAIL OPENING COUNTY WIDE IS NOON, DECEMBER 14TH.

Randy & I did a bit of riding in Watersmeet this afternoon...
The lowdown is there is enough snow to ride out of Watersmeet.
Groomers out panning, trails snow covered and smooth....
Further north you go - just gets better......
