So i know a guy with an 01 ski-doo 670 (not sure model) He said the harness needs to be replaced, he mentioned it was only $90 for the part (i presume he means the whole wireharness).
I don't know Squat at ski-doo's and was wondering what i should offer him for the sled, not really sure if i need a third one but i guess who doesn't need another sled right :).

Apparently, neither does the person selling the sled, or it is modified.
99 was the last year of the 670's. If it is morphodite, I wouldn't offer much. You aren't even sure if it runs without a harness.

Good to know he is kinda older so i would assume he actually was guessing the year.
That kinda nocks it down being older what would you guess a 99 at if thats the correct age

I depends upon which 99 it is. There was a Formula Z, and an MXZ-670HO. The HO would be worth a little more because it is a higher HP motor.
It depends upon what condition it is in. I know I wouldn't personally pay more than $500 for a sled that doesn't run. I know all he says it needs is a wiring harness, but why does it need a harness in the first place? Also, replacing a wiring harness in an S-Chassis is cake. If you can get one for $95, even a simple understanding of mechanics can have it put in for about an hour or hour and half time. Then the sled is worth $1500 easy.
Without it running, you don't know if a cylinder is burnt down, the rotary valve is scored up, a crank bearing is going bad, the stator is bad or a host of other issues.
$500 is an extremely good offer for sled that you can't listen to or drive. It is a crap shoot. I guess you have to ask yourself how lucky you feel.

That makes me feeling better i was actually thinking about trying 500 I have known him for a long time so i hate to lo-ball him but he doesn't ride anymore and kinda just wants it gone so he might go for it.
Thanks again maize I will let you guys know if i get it and what i find, i was actually curious as to what would cause the harness to fry short of a rub through.
Its a Deluxe i presume as it has e-start and reverse.
Hows the skid in those sleds anyway i know the doo's normally have a good ride or so i hear.
