Trail boss Denny was just contacted by the Vilas County (Wisconsin) Trail Coordinator Dale Mayo. Trail 7 was re-routed off of Lake Laura Rd last year, but some sledders still rode it. This year, Lake Laura Rd is strictly off limits due to logging. It will be plowed and sanded. Any snowmobiler caught on Lake Laura Rd this year, will be arrested. Besides, who wants to ride a sanded and salted road. If that isn't enough, I know of no snowmobile that is any match for a logging truck.

White Birch (trail 11) will also be plowed due to logging. Road routes near Starrett Lake will also be plowed, including Big Muskellunge Lk Rd.

PLEASE do not be angry with the Barnstormers club for any of this. Having to get off of Lake Laura Rd, for instance, was NOT by the choice of the club. It was mandated by Plum township. Also, we have no control over logging.

Thanks,
George

Hey Machzee. Ron has a message for you. There's a check for the ATV club that he's holding for you. I rode around your area today. Barnstormer trails were pretty decent actually. Can't wait for one more snowfall, but we have a good start at least. The second thing: Do you have any ATV's that can run the track at the St. Germain radar run for exhibitions? I heard that you had some guys that wouln't mind doing that! Rumor has it your club is doing the food again on Saturday. That's great news.

What do you know? A rumor that is actually TRUE! - LOL. Yup, we will do brats, dogs, coffee, hot chocolate, and soda again. Sorry guys, we cannot sell wobble pop. Hank says there is already pretty good ice out there. That is GREAT news.

I'll have to hook up with Ron, unless Jeff, Rick, or Tom already have.

As far as conditions go, all things considering, it isn't too bad. Conditions range from dangerous & poor up to pretty good. Most would be better had we been able to keep the blasted trucks off when it was wet this fall. Birch Springs was an absolute mess!
