Usually hate these type of posts but thought there was significant value for everyone to take away from it. Last week my wifes co-worker lost her 7 year old daughter in a snowmobile accident in West Branch, MI. To be brief, there 13 year old son was riding with her on the back when the boy lost control of the sled. I've attached the link below for some additional details but I just wanted everyone to remember what can happen. The article does not state that her brother was operated the sled but unfortanetely that was the case. This one hits me close to home and not only because its someone close to my wife but because of the fact that I have a 7 year old daughter of my home. It rips me up just typing this.

I'm sorry to preach the same old song about being careful. Again, i thought it would be valuable to all ST'er's/ friends / families / etc to remind you to keep it under control & within your riding limitations.

Such a sad story that could have been prevented. I'm wondering if anybody was certified for riding in this. Seems that the area may not have been ideal to be riding around? Sad either way.

Sorry to hear about that.

I just had my 13 year old daughter and 10 year old son up here this past weekend, and I let them ride the sleds up and down the road to my cabin (private property), by themselves! I was on their case pretty heavily, to not go very fast, keep it slow, and TAKE IT EASY. They were really enjoying it, and fortunately I didn't have an incident like that. Well, they were successful in navigating my trail a 1/2 mile into the woods before they got stuck. But that is minor. I was actually impressed with how far they got. Have to keep an eye on the kids, that's for sure.
