I'm looking at a new, never used, 2009 A.C. F5 LXR for my father. The dealer was asking $7,200 (Which seems like like alot as I payed $7,199 for a new 2010 last year w/ 4 years warranty).
I negotiated down to $6,500, but this still seems high for a 2 model year old machine when you think how much your going to lose on depreciation when you take it home.
How much room is there for movement on price? Am I out of line if I ask for an even $6,000? $6,200?
Thanks for your help!

I would say $6000 dont seem bad for a sled that is in it's 3 winter now , The factories should be helping get rid of those sleds now

Depending on were you live & ride the U.P. snow conditions are poor so far this year & if they are offing any warranty. I would go in @ 5,500.00 cash & see what they say. A small deal on a older sled is better for them then no deal @ all.

I would offer $6k and have them through in a jacket and helmet.

Hey Thanks for the responses!
I've kind of let the deal hang for now for a combination of the crumby snowpack here in North Central WI and the dealer not really moving on price!
The deal still sits a $6,500. Day by Day the sled is getting older and worth less money as an '09 sits on the showroom floor. The dealer doesn't seem very willing to move on price, not sure if he still thinks he's going to pull a mint on sled going into it's 3rd season?
With a little more snow in the forecast I think I might kick up the dust on the deal again and see what happens. If I cannot touch it for sub $6k I'm thinking its probably best to opt for brand new model year? Thoughts?
Thanks!

I don't think they have as much room to drop as people think. But right now he's paying interest on it, and will be for yet another year!

I am a salesperson and I know personally there is not the margin everyone thinks there is. That $6500 number is probably pretty close to a good number - is there any other brands you maybe interested in? I carry all four major brands and would like a chance at earning your business.
