SNOW CONDITIONS IMPROVING
Well as things would have it our trails opened the earliest in many years (Dec 12th) but the snow just has not been there. Around the 15th we got 6 to 7 inches but it stayed with us. My Snowmobile Tours did not start until December 26th and I was hoping for some snow. Conditions were "marginal" and not my preferred riding but my group wanted to go. Frankly, it was not too bad. Trails were white most of the way up to the U.P. We got about 2 inches Tuesday and my secon group went out on Wednesday (yesterday) surprisingly that little bit help and once again we had a good ride. Trails being marked on many lake now... Buckatoban OK yesterday, markers are out. Right now the one trail lake I would have concern would be North/South Twin. All other lakes should be marked now. If they are not marked STAY OFF and only ride were they are marked.
Anyway snow is falling now about 2 to 3 and I have tours tomorrow and Saturday More snow coming tonight and more coming Sunday. By Monday it looks like we could have 6 to 7 more inches. This will definatley help the conditions.
Right now you can have a good ride but think of other snowmobilers. Take your ride easy and do not rip up the trails. Keep it a steady pace and all can enjoy them right now.
Here are photos from my two days (Monday & Wednesday)
