1998 SkiDoo Formula 583 started fouling plugs, only on the mag side, toward the end of last season. The fouling seems to occur within a few minutes and is not black from carbon but usually wet, as in flooded. Two "new" fuel pumps did not help, float setting is correct, needle jet functions ok, primer seems ok, compression is good, spark is good. The sled is currently in a SkiDoo dealer's shop for the second time for the same problem. Any suggestions short of trading the sled off or switching dealers.

Check the fuel needle and seat. I bet it is worn on that side.

After a month and a half at the "dealer", I got the sled back. They replaced all the crank bearings, seals, and a new piston on the mag side, $688. That after initially replacing the fuel pump, (took five months) which was not faulty, $175. Knowing that after I drag the sled 450 miles north for the first ride of the season it will probably take a dump near Hurley. priceless! Thanks for the tip.
