I guess that we'll see Chicago in the playoffs then...oh wait, they're not in them. NUFF SAID.

Pack won't make the second round. Big deal.

Really smart coaching too. Leaving in the starters to get hurt when there is no chance of a comeback was a brilliant move!

Actually, they have a bye in the first round, due to that 12-3 record. So yes, they will make the second round.

Those winds were friggin unreal yesterday, and it's impossible for a team (that lives on the passing game) to play well in that. Those conditions obviously favor a running team, which the Packers are not. They have been getting some good runs from Grant in recent weeks, but they usually come out of passing formations when the D is spread, and that O-line is just not good enough to run the whole game when the D expects it (like yesterday required). And those were very unusual circumstances (20-30 mph winds, with gusts to 50 mph), so you can't read too much into it. I agree that it was not one of McCarthy's better days (along with the first game against the Bears this year). But he has a pretty damn good record overall (actually, his record for his first two years is the best in Packer history (even better than St. Vince), and he has done that with the youngest team in the league. So I'm not going to get too down on him.

The Packers biggest weakness right now (other than the weak O-line) is that their D-line is shorthanded. Jolly and Cole are out for the year, and those were two of their best run stoppers (as well as keeping the line fresh with a big rotation). You could really see how much that hurts yesterday, when the Bears could run up the middle at will, on those short yardage situations. Earlier in the year, that would not have happened. Look how they held Peterson (and shutout the Vikes) back in Nov. There is no way they could do that now. I can't see them going deep in the playoffs like that, but oh well, it's been a really fun year to watch. And who knows....if the Bears could make the Super Bowl last year without an offense, it's proof that anything can happen in football. So the Pack playing in Phoenix is not completely out of the question. And at least we get to watch the Packers play in January, unlike those Bears fans. :D

I will stop the bad mouthing of the Pack and focus our attention towards another wonderful performance by Kyle Orton. He put up his usual 8 of 14 for 101 yards. I think he may be our franchise Quarterback, look out for years to come football fans. He is only 25, with the endurance of Favre, he will be around for, oh say, another 13 years reeking havoc on secondaries around the league. :p

The Pack, "the cold weather team", NOT! Brett looked like his old self yesterday, choking in the cold. And what was up with the coaches leaving in the starters? Makes ya wonder sometimes why some people get all that money for what they do. I guess we'll have to see if there is redemption in the air in the coming weeks.

"At home, Favre now holds a 40-5 record including playoffs when the kickoff temperature is 34 degrees or below; possesses an impressive 90.7 passer rating in those 45 cold-weather games, based on 890 completions in 1,441 attempts (61.8 percent) for 10,242 yards, 79 TDs and 37 INTs"

"Rebounding in 2006, has finished without a losing record in 14 of his 15 years as the Packers' starter, having entered the season's final weekend in playoff contention for all but one campaign.
Also has led the Packers to an NFL-best 147-90 record since taking over as the starter in the fourth week of the 1992 season"

Yeah, that sounds like the record of a choker who can't play in the cold. He's only the winningest QB in NFL history.

The wind was the primary factor yesterday, not just the cold.
