1998 Ski-Doo MXZ 500?

Hello all. Now my father is looking at getting back into snowmobiling after about 10 years of not touching a sled. At the moment he just wants a sled he can get around on in the ditches and maybe go north a couple of times on it, but that's pretty much the extent of it. We found a 1998 Ski-Doo MXZ 500 for a pretty decent price and we are wondering what you guys have to say about them. Pros, and cons, etc. Any help/insight is greatly appreciated, Jolly.

Well, I've got an "02 MXZ 500 and i love it. It's fine for me and my style of riding and where I ride. I weigh about 190 lbs and it will easily go 90mph if that's what you're after. I prefer 50-60 myslef. I don't know how much has been changed from a 98 to an 02, but that's my 2 cents. i say ya can't go wrong with a Doo.
