does anyone know how to get old MI stickers off windsheilds. i got the sticker off, but the "voided" sticky stuff is still there. i have tried, windex, wd-40, plastic cleaner, and scraping it. it will not come off....it just smudges (sp?). i am tring to get it off with as little damage to the windshield as possible. i am replacing it with a new decal.

I had the same problem with my Illinois sticker. Ended up just putting the new one over it

Bobbie, that stuff can get really tricky. Try this first. Hair dryer on high(just enough to get it a tad gooey). Take an old credit card, or something similar and chip at the edge of it Small moves should start to build it up and mover it into a larger piece. You should be able to lift it off in smaller pieces. IF you get it into a big clump, allow it to cool down and then peel at it. Once the main adhesive is gone, try some mineral spirits, or finger nail polish remover mixed 50/50 with rubbing alcohol. It shouldn't harm the lexan as I've used this combo to remove paint on Lexan R/C car bodies. If your near a hobby shop, you may also want to see if they have any BOLINK BODY WASH. It's a simliar compound that's designed not to harm lexan.

I use Ronsonol lighter fluid.(zippo) It works really good. I've never had it discolor a windshield but I'm careful not get it all over. Once I have the glue off, I wash the windshield with a windex so the new sticker will stay.

Try carb cleaner...I think that is was I used to get the stickers off of the Rev Knee pads.

have any of you ever tried the "Sticker Off" spray?
here's a link I found:
I saw this stuff at a local dealer, near his sticker section. But I didn't check it out closely to see what it was all about.
Is it just overpriced, doing the same job that a typical household product can do???

if your going to put new one on, and in same place. put it over the top off the old one. problem solved. but if it is not smooth anymore, may not be such a good idea. wd40 sure worked good on mine. ?
