PLEASE TELL ME SOMEONE HAS A FIX FOR POLARIS' MPG ISSUE. WITH THE PRICE OF FUEL IN VILAS COUNTY AVERAGING $3.30 A GALLON, ITS COSTING ME A FORTUNE TO RIDE THIS PIECE OF *#@!

I AVERAGE 8-10 MPG. I DONT RIDE MY SLED HARD AND I AM NOT ON/OFF THROTTLE I TRY TO MAINTAIN SAME SPEED SIMPLY BECAUSE OF FUEL ISSUE. DOES ANYONE HAVE ANY SUGGESTIONS OTHER THAN DUMPING THIS THING.

IF ANYONE IS THINKING OF PURCHASING ONE OF THESE ------DONT:(

I'VE HAD 4 RECALLS 2 OF THEM INVOLVED STOP RIDING NOTICES.

CHECK OUT THE HISTORY ON THIS PIECE OF CRAP:

30 miles on sled fuel tank cracks
120 miles oil leak develops
400 miles receive stop riding notice for bolts backing out of steering shaft (i think thats what it was) feb. 2006-no known fix - trackside (eagle river) says call in a month or so, we might have the parts by then. season over with--

get sled fixed 2007-

receive 2 more recall notices one is stop riding notice AGAIN although parts were available this time,
ride with no problems other than major vibration issue on left tunnel, (have 2 left knee replacements vibration is so bad it hurts to ride) tried to shim exhaust manifold no relief

march of 07 --1200 miles on sled rpms stuck at 3800 no reverse, no known fix SLED OUT OF WARRANTY POLARIS WONT STEP UP TO THE PLATE AND COVER REPAIRS.

Thinking of getting rid of sled and buying skidoo xp when it made its debut at derby last year.

november 2007 -----get rpm issue fixed-- TPS was getting voltage spikes--
put 40 miles on sled (can't ride much had 2nd knee replacement 11/7) and sled starts making high pitch squeak noise and smells like rubber burning. this happened last week riding 6 miles to Bill & Tori's Log Cabin in Conover.
My husband hasn't had a chance to look at it, he's pretty technical i'm sure he'll figure it out.
:confused::mad: ALSO LEFT HANDWARMER DOESNT WORK NOW SLED HAS LESS THAN 1300 MILES ON IT.

So if you think you want a 700 classic fusion -------think again-----

BUY SKI-DOO I KNOW I WILL BE RIDING A DOO NEXT YEAR AFTER MY KNEE HEALS!!

I have a 06 iq tourning with the 700, no gas mileage out of mine either. My friend has a 08 switchback with the 700 and he does not get good gas mileage either. I hope to get mine remaped for better performance and mileage. Other problems I have had is the sled will lock up, it will not go foward or reverse unless l physically advance the secondary clutch. Talked to many dealers and they do not have any answers. As for vibration and other problems not so much, love the sled overall, just wish it was easier on fuel! I am thinking of getting a 600 cleanfire next year, I have herd good things about it, better performance and fuel mileage.

The 07 700 cleanfire dragon is no better i get less then 10 mile per gal and that is after the dealer remapped and put new thermostat in .it runs real good but you don't pass Meany gas stations.

I have a new 2006 FS and FST touring....Have had nothing but problems with them. The FS has been in two times for check engine light and the FST for a plug fouling problem. I am glad I have the extended 4 year warranty with these.

That is about all you are going to get from that engine. A buddy has an 06 700 Touring, same engine. Loves the sled, never any engine troubles. At 100 miles you'd better be near a gas station. We once had to drive a few miles and bring a gas can back, he didn't quite make it there.
